Description

Tyto Athene is hiring an Engagement Manager to join our growing team of Cloud and Compliance experts. We’re looking for an experienced professional to lead customer engagement and service delivery across our cloud and compliance program. This role requires someone proactive, flexible, and comfortable operating in fast-moving environments without rigid processes. If you have hands-on experience delivering cloud, compliance, or infrastructure projects and a proven ability to manage SOWs, coordinate across technical teams, and keep customers satisfied, this is an excellent opportunity to grow in the cybersecurity, compliance, and cloud space.

Delivery Responsibilities:

  • Own the project lifecycle from kickoff through closeout, including planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and transition to operations.
  • Review and internalize each project’s SOW; ensure all work remains in scope while proactively managing scope changes, risks, dependencies, and customer expectations.
  • Lead customer kickoff activities, including presenting kickoff materials, defining project objectives, establishing timelines, and outlining delivery plans and communication cadences.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, deliverables, resource assignments, and risk/issue logs.
  • Coordinate work across security engineers, build engineers, SecOps analysts, and compliance teams—acting as the central orchestrator for all delivery activities and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Manage schedules, resources, and budgets across multiple concurrent projects; track progress against baselines and communicate status through weekly reports, dashboards, and leadership updates.
  • Facilitate day‑to‑day project operations, including customer meetings, internal standups, and follow‑ups to ensure timely completion of tasks and resolution of blockers.
  • Oversee project outcomes for compliance-driven programs, including understanding vulnerabilities, POA&Ms, and FedRAMP/FISMA/NIST/CMMC requirements, and ensuring deliverables meet regulatory standards.

Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ongoing Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities for customers, ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate evidence collection, artifact updates, vulnerability review cycles, and POA&M maintenance across engineering, SecOps, and compliance teams.
  • Track and manage recurring ConMon tasks in GitLab, ensuring timely updates, ownership clarity, and closure of findings.
  • Monitor system changes, configuration updates, and security events to ensure they are properly documented and reflected in compliance artifacts.
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing point of contact for ConMon activities, including status updates, reporting, and audit preparation.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring outputs meet FedRAMP/FISMA/NIST/CMMC requirements and are always audit‑ready.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, or systemic risks surfaced through ConMon activities and drive remediation plans with internal teams.

General Delivery Responsibilities (continued):

  • Track, manage, and resolve customer tasks and operational issues using GitLab as the primary delivery, workflow, and ticketing platform.
  • Ensure effective alignment, coordination, and accountability across all internal and external stakeholders, escalating issues when needed to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Identify, document, and escalate financial, operational, or programmatic risks, drive mitigation strategies, and contingency planning.
  • Support projects through transition from implementation to steady‑state operations, ensuring knowledge transfer, documentation, and handoff completeness.
  • Manage multiple customers and internal team members simultaneously, leveraging broader support as needed to maintain delivery quality and velocity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by refining delivery processes, templates, and best practices across the engagement management function.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of direct project delivery experience, including Project Management, Engagement Management, Project Coordination, Customer Success, or similar roles.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud, compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, etc.), or infrastructure projects for government or commercial customers.
  • Experience with schedule management, resource management, budget tracking, and service delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing SOWs, staying in scope, handling change orders, and executing delivery best practices (status reporting, tracking milestones, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-success mindset.
  • Comfortable working in environments that require flexibility, initiative, and the ability to operate without rigid processes or structured training.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field; MBA or master’s degree.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Experience with GitLab or similar tools for issue and task tracking.
  • Prior experience in security or compliance-driven environments (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, etc.).

Location:

  • US Remote, must be willing to work east coast hours
