Description

Tyto is searching for a Procurement Manager that will be responsible for managing a team of four – three Buyers and one Warehouse Manager. The successful candidate will also be responsible for medium-to-high complexity material and software procurement actions for new business proposals and for ongoing programs across Tyto’s three Business Groups.  Successful candidate must be an excellent communicator to manage the team; coordinate and collaborate with suppliers, OEM and VAR representatives, and company professionals from various disciplines;  is required to use problem-solving techniques to address unique procurement requests and negotiations that impact critical support requirements;  and have experience supporting government procurement system compliance and documentation, including experience working with price analysis methodologies.  This position is based in Reston, VA. Remote or telework may be considered for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Procurement team to deliver compliant cradle-to-grave procurement administration.
  • Develop and issue solicitations in support of proposals and on-contract growth in accordance with company policy and program/proposal requirements.
  • Develop and negotiate favorable terms on procurements, including price, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders, ensuring consistency with customer requirements and corporate initiatives.
  • Perform purchase order administration, supplier management, and closeout for all procurement-related activities.
  • Develop relationships with key strategic suppliers to maximize pricing structure
  • Recruit responsive suppliers providing high quality products and services at fair and reasonable prices. 
  • Review proposals and recommend suppliers based on price/cost analyses and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree coupled with 8 years of relevant experience; OR a master’s degree with 4-6 years of experience. Experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
  • Prior experience leading a team and procuring on behalf of the government is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills.
  • FAR/DFAR familiarity 
  • Familiarity working with OEMs and VARs

  • CostPoint experience
  • CPSR experience
