Description

Tyto Athene is seeking a Part-Time Principal Engineer to support a Government Program Management Office in Suitland, MD.    

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work is Part-time on government site and telework, in accordance with customer demand.
  • Support the Program Management Office and other organizations as a subject matter expert (SME), providing multi-disciplined technical and strategic assistance to government program managers.
  • Provide technical direction and expertise on a variety of program areas, including strategic management, project management, systems design, and budget analysis.
  • Provide assistance with acquisition planning, milestone review, system requirements, concept of operations, installation, and test & evaluation.
  • Assess emerging technologies and quantify current system performance to recommend options for future system enhancement based on customer priorities.
  • Facilitate communications between the Program Office and various stakeholders, including resource sponsors, technical/design agents (field and R&D activities, test facilities, laboratories), platform Type Commanders, and other government agencies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in support of DoD acquisition programs, project management support, systems analysis, or systems engineering.
  • Proficiency with the DoD Acquisition System, Planning Programming Budgeting & Execution (PPBE) system, and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), able to effectively interact with customers, partners, and associates at all levels.
  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite, web-based applications, and databases.
  • No more then 10% travel to various customer sites.

 

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in technical or related discipline.
  • Completion of various DAU and Project Management coursework/certifications.

Clearance:

  • Current active TS clearance (must have current SSBI) as reported in DISS.
