Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Contracts Specialist to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages, negotiates, and oversees contract operations to support USSOUTHCOM’s mission-critical acquisitions and procurement activities 
  • Develops and implements contract management strategies, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and procurement best practices 
  • Leads contract negotiations, vendor management, and risk assessments to secure cost-effective and mission-aligned agreements 
  • Reviews statements of work (SOW), performance metrics, and contractual obligations to optimize procurement efficiency and mitigate risks 
  • Implements contract lifecycle management tools, reporting systems, and compliance frameworks to enhance oversight and accountability 
  • Executes lifecycle management of contracts, aligning operations with budgeting, risk mitigation, and mission readiness strategies 
  • Conducts audits, compliance assessments, and process optimizations to maintain adherence to regulatory standards 
  • Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 contract management support, mentoring junior specialists and collaborating with finance, legal, and logistics teams to streamline acquisition workflows 
  • Develops procurement policies, negotiates complex contracts, and ensures seamless integration of acquisition solutions with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems 
  • Supports operational readiness by delivering efficient, compliant, and strategically aligned contracting solutions. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Finance or related field   
  • 10+ years of experience in federal contract administration
  • In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government acquisition procedures 
  • Proven experience negotiating complex contracts and managing high-value programs  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite  

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in related field 
  • Working knowledge of GSA Schedules, Indefinite-Delivery/ Indefitnite-Quantity (IDIQ) and Government-Wide Acquisition Conttacts (GWACS)
  • Experience with contract closeout and audit support 
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Managment and cost reimbursement contracts 
  • Experience supporting contract for DoD or other federal agencies  
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) 
  • Certified Professional Contracts (CPCM)  

Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
