Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Logistics Lead to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations, focusing on efficient movement and storage of goods 
• Manages logistics teams to meet operational requirements and deliver materials and services on time 
• Develops logistics strategies and plans to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance 
• Aligns strategies with organizational goals to support operational readiness 
• Oversees supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials 
• Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to maintain the availability of required materials and resources 
• Leads, trains, and mentors logistics personnel, promoting efficiency and continuous improvement 
• Provides guidance and support to help staff handle logistics challenges 
• Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in logistics operations 
• Identifies risks within the logistics process and develops strategies to mitigate them 
• Works with cross-functional teams, including operations, transportation, and procurement, to meet logistical needs and project timelines 
• Communicates logistics strategies and challenges to senior management and other stakeholders 
• Manages logistics budgets, optimizing resource allocation and cost-effective solutions 
• Monitors logistics expenditures and identifies areas for cost reduction while maintaining quality 
• Tracks logistics performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) 
• Provides regular reports to senior management on logistics operations, performance, and improvement opportunities 
• Identifies opportunities to improve logistics processes, systems, and technologies 
• Drives innovation in logistics practices to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and delivery speed 

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field  
• 10+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, with 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of logistics principles, government logistics operations, and DoD supply procedures 
• Experience with logistics and inventory management systems 
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills 
• Ability to travel as needed (CONUS/OCONUS)  

Desired:

• Master’s degree in related field 
• Experience with military logistics support or contingency operations  
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies 
• Understanding of Export Control Regulations and Hazardous Material Handling 
• Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) 
• Certified Supply Chain Management (CSCP) 
• Project Management Professional  

Clearance:

• Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

• DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
• CompTIA Security+ CE
