Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Junior Field Service Technician to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in supporting DAO SOUTHCOM IT operations by performing tasks related to training, transport services, troubleshooting land mobile radio, SATCOM, and logistics 
  • Participates in warehouse operations, helping with the management and tracking of physical IT assets 
  • Assists in maintaining personnel security and following USSOUTHCOM policies and procedures
  • Supports the U.S. Department of State (DoS) diplomatic pouch system by assisting with deliveries and shipments 
  • Helps provide special event services and supports logistical requirements 
  • Assists with country/location-specific services within the USSOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) 
  • Supports coordination of physical security services for IT assets and security logs
  • Assist with the installation and setup of IT hardware, software, and communications systems 
  • Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting for end-user systems and network equipment 
  • Support senior technicians with maintenance, imaging, upgrades, and repairs 
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is properly maintained, tracked, and accounted for
  • Provide on-site user support and training for basic IT functionality 
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, incidents, and asset statuses 
  • Adhere to all safety, security, and operational procedures during field assignments    

Qualifications

Required:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of experience in IT support, electronics or field service  
  • Ability and willingness to travel more than 51% of the time to CONUS and OCONUS locations including austere environments 
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows), and networking concepts 
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently or under supervision 
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude  
  • U.S. Passport and the ability to obtain deployment s clearances and medical requirements 

Desired:

  • Associate’s degree in related field 
  • Familiarity with basic tools, cable management, and IT field deployment practices 
  • Experience working in a DoD or federal contract environment 
  • Previous exposure to tactical systems, SATCOM, or ruggedized equipment is a plus 
  • CompTIA A+ certification 
  • CompTIA Network+ certification 

Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE

Location:

  • Doral, Florida

Travel:

  • Travel may be required based on operational requirements
