Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Warfighter Experience (WX) Designer to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on designing and enhancing the user experience for the Enterprise Information Environment (EIE)
  • Understands user needs, analyzes feedback, and develops intuitive, high-performing solutions that contribute to mission success
  • Uses data-driven insights to improve usability, functionality, and overall satisfaction 
  • Collects and interprets data from technical sensors and user feedback to identify trends and inform design decisions
  • Develops actionable insights to improve the user experience and addresses potential issues before they arise
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the user environment and its unique challenges
  • Adapts designs to align with user workflows and operational requirements
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to address incident trends, prevent service disruptions, and implement improvements 
  • Contributes to solutions that enhance system reliability and usability through responsive design principles 
  • Utilizes telemetry data to identify service degradations or anticipated challenges. Presents clear and actionable design recommendations to stakeholders for remediation or improvement activities 
  • Refines and optimizes designs to enhance user satisfaction and system performance. Proposes creative solutions to improve the overall value and efficiency of the EIE       

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, UX Design, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 4–9 years of experience supporting user experience, human-centered design, or digital product development
  • Familiarity with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, Balsamiq)
  • Understanding of usability principles, design heuristics, and human factors fundamentals 
  • Ability to clearly communicate design concepts through sketches, flows, and visual artifacts
  • Experience working on technology or software development projects, preferably in mission-critical or operational environments     

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • Experience working directly with military, defense, or intelligence community users
  • Prior support to DoD or IC programs focused on system design or human factors 
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, or other iterative development and design methodologies
  • Certifications in UX, Human Factors, Design Thinking, or Systems Engineering
  • Understanding of the unique challenges and user expectations in classified or secure environments    

Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
