Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Software Developer - Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains software applications, collaborating with senior developers to implement new features and improve existing functionality 
  • Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code in various programming languages, following best practices and coding standards
  • Participates in code reviews, providing feedback to peers and implementing suggested improvements to ensure code quality and maintainability
  • Assists in troubleshooting and debugging software issues, working to resolve defects and improve application performance
  • Contributes to the development and execution of tests, such as unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests, to ensure software quality
  • Works with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement software solutions that align with user needs and business goals
  • Assists senior developers in the design and implementation of software architectures, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and efficient
  • Continuously learns new programming techniques, languages, and frameworks, integrating new knowledge into development tasks
  • Maintains accurate documentation for software applications, including system architecture, code comments, and user documentation
  • Participates in agile development processes, attending sprint meetings, providing updates on progress, and adjusting priorities as needed to meet deadlines                  

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4-9 years of software development experience
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages 
  • Understanding of software development methodologies 
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud native applications 
  • Experience in technical leadership, mentorship and codebase governance
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles and compliance in classified environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively   

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s in related field
  • Experience developing in cloud environments 
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and Continues Improvement/Development
  • Working knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal agency software development efforts  
  • ITIL v4 Foundation of Higher certification
  • SAFe Agile certification
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert 

Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
