Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Network Engineer with over 8 years of relevant experience in IT engineering to support the a defense customer in Richmond, VA

Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of network firewall, proxy, load balancer and VPN installation, configuration, sustainment, upgrade, replacement and removal following approved guidelines and direction.
• Provide standard configuration management for customer's firewall, proxy, load balancer, and VPN infrastructure, utilizing agency change control and management processes.
• Provide standard configuration management for DoD enterprise cloud proxy service.
• Provide standard configuration management and troubleshooting of Proxy Auto Configuration (PAC) files and network settings within internet browser configurations.
• Implement and maintain Break and Inspect HTTPS/SSL configurations and policies.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG and IAVM compliance, utilizing agency change control and management processes.
• Develop, support, and maintain Firewall design and DMZ on-premise and cloud environments.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations to customer regarding architecture and industry best practices.
• Identify technical requirements to meet customer architecture standards, business requirements, and industry best practices.
• Modify and implement configurations that change through the Change Control Procedures and periodically review such configurations.
• Manage software configurations and capacity to optimize performance.
• Provide and maintain documentation and network drawings as directed by customer
• Provide artifacts and documents to support RMF and continuous monitoring program as directed by customer

Required:

• Certifications: CCNP, and Comptia Security+ CE, (or other 8140 level II)
• Over 8 or more years of experience in a relevant IT engineering mission area.
• Are knowledgeable of industry-standard methods and practices related to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of stateful, packet-inspection and/or application level and NextGen firewalls, including troubleshooting and ruleset creation.
• Are knowledgeable of industry-standard methods and practices concerning the installation, configuration, and maintenance of proxy and content filter technologies, including troubleshooting and ruleset creation.
• Are knowledgeable of industry-standard methods and practices concerning the installation, configuration, and maintenance of VPN technologies, including troubleshooting.
• Are knowledgeable of industry-standard methods and practices concerning the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network load balancer technologies, including troubleshooting and ruleset creation.
• Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the engineering, application, and development of multiple operating systems.
• Analyzes computer software and hardware requirements to provide integration and implementation support through the design and development of new systems at a highly technical level.
• Ensures that system are functioning according to design specifications. Analyzes and documents users’ functional and data requirements.
• Develops site survey instruments to gather detailed user requirements and business process analysis data.
• Conducts functional user interviews to document functional, system, customization, and data requirements and data sources.
• Determines data requirements for internal processes and external interfaces.
• Develops new systems or tailors commercial products to meet user requirements.
• Maps existing data structures and migrates legacy data to the new or tailored systems.
• Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meets documented user requirements.
• Develops documentation to describe system requirements and use.
• Provides technical support and diagnoses and resolves system problems.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications, as assigned.
• Plans and leads major technology assignments.
• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• Supervises others.

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $110,000-$119,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
