Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Lead Facility Equipement Management to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operation, maintenance, and optimization of facility equipment to support USSOUTHCOM’s mission-critical infrastructure
  • Develops and integrates equipment management strategies, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with DoD regulations and industry standards
  • Manages heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, power distribution, backup generators, and environmental controls
  • Conducts diagnostics, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of facility systems, implementing preventive maintenance programs to sustain operational effectiveness
  • Leads modernization efforts, integrating new technologies and energy-efficient solutions to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs 
  • Executes facility equipment lifecycle management, aligning maintenance operations with risk mitigation, cybersecurity, and continuity of operations (COOP) strategies
  • Conducts audits, compliance assessments, and system evaluations to maintain adherence to safety and regulatory requirements
  • Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical leadership, mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with engineers and facility teams to resolve complex issues
  • Develops standard operating procedures, implements automation for monitoring and reporting, and ensures seamless integration of facility systems with enterprise infrastructure
  • Supports mission readiness by maintaining resilient, adaptive, and secure facility equipment solutions.      

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • Experience may substitute for formal education based on DoD guidelines
  • 4-9 years of experience in facility equipment management, including 3+ years in leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills      

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience supporting DoD, military installations, or federal buildings
  • Working knowledge of government procurement processes and contractor oversight 
  • Familiarity with SCADA, BAS or other monitoring tools
  • Certified Facilities Manager, Facility Management Professional or equivalent    

Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
